The Ace Hotel has a swank reputation for offering temporary urban dwellings for the those loathsome of cheap, gaudy interiors prevalent in the arena of affordable hotels. The hotel chain strives to offer its design-conscious clientele a welcoming juxtaposition of industrial metal beams and cabinets with varnished wooden floors and desks. The minimalist lighting shines upon details such as a cot-style bed and vintage sofas.
Seattle’s Ace Hotel has a much more humble function than its counterparts, such its New York branch, a fashion hot spot known for housing parties and an Opening Ceremony. The Seattle Ace Hotel is located at 1st avenue and Wall street, close to fine dining, entertainment, and of course, our famous Pike Place Market. Guests have the option of single or double beds with the convenience of easy access to amenities in their studio-style units.

Here are some images from the campaign:

This retreat in northeast Paris is the first of a new brand aimed at travelers seeking stylish, affordable lodging in city centers. The 172 white-and-gray rooms were conceptualized by Philippe Starck, who chose wall-mounted Mac screens (for TV, radio, and Internet) and funky superhero-mask lampshades. A new rug is an easy way to make the home look new!
Did you know that all BoConcept rugs shipped from India (after 2006) are marked with a label: “Care & Fair”? Care & Fair is an intiative against illegal Child Labor and for the support of people working in the carpet production in India, Nepal and Pakistan. The label is a visible proof of our efforts against child labour. Our supplying sources are financing a school with 350 students.
You can read more about Care & Fair and their work on www.carefair.org
One of the best websites I’ve visited in a long time! The interactive design of the website is so fun!

Using Le Corbusier’s 1931 classic, Polychromie Architecturale, as her inspiration, Dwell founder Lara Deam presents her third custom-created color palette using hues from Ralph Lauren Paint.
I admit, I’m a packrat. I can never find myself throwing away magazines, a well designed brochure, postcard or hang-tag. Thus me having piles and piles of magazines dated years ago, boxes and boxes of marketing collateral from various boutiques, album releases, galleries, etc….aka clutter!
This storage bed, from BoConcept is a great solution to my cluttered small condo.
Not only does it serve a great function, it has a clean and modern design. Plus it would eliminate all those pesky dust bunnies that live underneath a bed, and come out once you place and take out and retrieve things from storage boxes/bins. Also worth mentioning, is that the bed comes in 3 different surface finishes, totally customizable to your own interior design.
Storage bed from BoConcept > bins and boxes from Storables.
Creative Space: Urban Homes of Artists and Innovators by Francesca Gavin
Featuring interiors created by people who shop in Colette in Paris, live on the Lower East Side in New York and travel to Tokyo; the domestic spaces are often DIY and strongly reflect pop culture. Take a look at the urban studios, apartments and homes of designers, directors, stylists, graffiti writers, curators, novelists and innovators across the globe. Filled with post-modern props, vintage junk, covetable collectables and contemporary art, these homes are anything but minimalist - and they’re photographed here in full-color for you to tour from top to bottom.
